Just a short distance from the community, Truman Lake provides exceptional outdoor recreational opportunities. Spanning 259 square miles, the lake is renowned for its boating, fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, and biking. It’s quiet and uncrowded waters are home to trophy largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, and catfish, making it a prime destination for anglers. In the winter, you might even spot bald eagles soaring above.

Truman Lake’s shoreline stretches for 958 miles, and its 55,600-acre expanse includes rugged hills, scenic bluffs, hardwood forests, and prairies. This stunning landscape is perfect for exploring nature at its finest. Managed by the Army Corps of Engineers, the surrounding 110,000 acres of public land offer ample space for hiking, hunting, horseback riding, and off-road vehicle adventures.
